A decision-ready analytic is a live game sports insight that you are ready to act on. It is the ability to recognize critical biomechanics changes in player behavior and determine what they mean to performance and game outcomes.
The key to effective decision-ready analytics is to recognize changes in player and team performance BEFORE anyone else.
That's where qualitative analysis (QA) comes in. QA reveals player changes that help to explain why a player or team is gaining momentum or losing its edge — ahead of the scoreboard.
Remember that biomechanics qualitative analysis in ongoing in real-time. If you see an odd mechanic, AND you determine a reason for that strange mechanic AND that the mechanic could affect play you have successfully formed a decision-ready analytic.
What you do with your decision-ready analytics next is up to you and can determine whether you are ahead of the curve or not when it comes to prediction player performance and game outcomes.
